Judy Carol Shelton

Judy Carol Shelton, age 69, of Richlands, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 17, 2025 at her home. She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Orvil “Aub” Lester and June Marie Asbury Lester. Judy was a retired nurse from Humana/Clinch Valley Hospital in Richlands, Virginia having worked there for over 20 years. She was a member of the Lake Park Freewill Baptist Church in Richlands. Judy loved her family, her children, grandchildren, step grandchildren, and her great grandchildren very much. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Donald Shelton; infant son, Donald Joe (DJ) Shelton; and her brother, Orville Steve Lester. Those left to cherish her memory are: Sons: Stevie Lee Shelton and wife, Kristi of Richlands, Virginia Paul Clinton Shelton and wife, Tonya of Richlands, Virginia Sisters: Linda Keen of Richlands, Virginia and Shirley Cordle of Doran, Virginia Grandchildren: Olivia Shelton, Justin Shelton, Izaiah Shelton and wife, Molly, Emily Shelton, Hunter Shelton and wife, Alexis, Julius Pridgen, and Brooklyn Pridgen Great Grandchildren: Hazel Shelton, Levi Goad, Kolt Browning, Baby Addison Browning, Cayde Shelton, and Delilah Shelton Special Cousins: Bonnie Vandyke, Betty Duty, and Pattie Dotson Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Judy Carol Shelton will be conducted Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 1pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Lonnie Perkins, Rev Clarence Lowe, and Rev. Kevin Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Izaiah Shelton, Justin Shelton, Hunter Shelton, Julius Pridgen, Jason Hess, and Phillip Vance. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Chris Maynard. Friends may visit with the family from 12pm until 1pm on Wednesday prior to the funeral at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
