June Ruby Louise Trent, 76, of Tazewell, Virginia went to be with her heavenly Father on May 25, 2023. June is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Chuck Trent; children Carolynn Trent, Dean and Marilee Trent, Michael Trent and Pen Garrett, and Stephen and Alicia Trent; grandchildren Kristen and Louis Acosta, Abigail and Darren Blankenship, and Hannah Johnson; great- grandchildren [identical twins] Harper and Alayna Johnson, and Willow Blankenship. June is preceded in death by her parents and most special grandson, Corey Dean Trent. June was born on June 21, 1946, in Ipswich, England to Robert and Joyce Bailey. June and Chuck were married in 1962, after which they moved from England to the United States, eventually settling in Virginia where they would go on to raise their four children. June’s grandchildren were her treasures, all of whom affectionately called her Golday, Gran, or Granster. She would wait at the side door for them to arrive each time they’d visit, and wave goodbye from the living room window as they left, already excitedly awaiting the next time they would return. June loved crafting, sewing, baking, gardening, collecting, Christmas, cups of tea (splash of milk), and many other things, but most of all she loved Chuck. Be it quick jaunts to the Smokies, Sunday afternoon lunches, ice cream runs, or drives through the country, they were happiest together. No two people had a closer bond; they were best friends, with a partnership only rivaled by the true and unconditional love they shared. Aside from Chuck and their family, June’s true passion was her church. June served beside Chuck for fifty years; six in youth ministry followed by forty-four at Calvary Baptist Chapel. She led Youth Church, taught Sunday School, organized events from banquets to hayrides, and did it all with a gracious, giving heart. As such, she acquired the nicknames Sister June, Momma June, Miss June, and June Bug, all of which she adored – and answered to! June Trent loved her church, and she loved the Lord. Matthew 25:21 Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Funeral services for June Ruby Louise Trent will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 1:00pm at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel, 870 West Main Street, Tazewell, VA with Pastor Chuck Trent officiating. The burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Bluefield, VA, after which all are welcome to attend a fellowship banquet at Calvary Baptist Chapel.
