Justin Blake Dye, age 15, of Pounding Mill, VA passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at his home. Justin was born on July 8, 2003 in Abingdon, VA and was the son of Timothy W. Dye and Janet Osborne. He was well known for his sweet personality, always helping others, and for being kind and friendly. He was a sophomore at Richlands High School and was a lifelong resident of the area. The word bullying doesn’t begin to encompass the ugliness, suffering and pain it causes. No child or teenager should have to live with the pain and humiliation caused by the sharp cutting blade of someone’s words. Justin’s family are asking that parents talk to their children and find out answers to hard questions. Are they being bullied? Are they the bully? Have they witnessed bullying and walked away glad that it was not them being bullied? Have they joined in the laughter because they did not want others to bully them also? Parents, please teach your children that our words are our most powerful resource and we need to be careful how we use them. Our schools need to teach the children, the teachers, and principals and all who work there to open their eyes and put a stop to bullying. Justin’s purpose and impact on this world is beyond what we can see or feel. He was a beautiful soul who no longer must suffer pain and rejection here on Earth. To those who were kind to Justin, Thank you. Your love and kindness meant the world to him. To Justin, thank you for coming into our lives. We are all much better for it. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be: Dustin Strong, Buster Hinkle, Shane Osborne, Anthony Dye, Luke Dye, Jaccob Keen, Aaron Reedy, and Austin Stacy.
