Katie Brown

Mrs. Katie A. Street Brown, age 77, of Tazewell, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009 in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. She was born in Rowe, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Tolbert and Katherine Keen Street. She had made her home in the Buchanan and Tazewell County areas all of her life and was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Brown; four sisters, Cleo Richardson, Mildred Kiser, Juanita Street, and Maebelle Street; and four brothers, Roger, Grayson, Ervin, and Glenn Street. Survivors are: Six Daughters: Kathy Looney and husband, Dickey John of Oakwood, Virginia Carolyn Prater and husband, Lundy of Abingdon, Virginia Velda Ratliff and husband, Ralph of Maxie, Virginia Veda Brown of Tazewell, Virginia Lovetta Brown of Tazewell, Virginia Tammy Allison and husband, Perry, Jr. of Tazewell, Virginia One Son: Randy Brown and wife, Connie of North Fairfield, Ohio One Sister: Josephine Hagy Melvin and husband, Bob of Springville, Virginia Three Brothers: Dillo Street and wife, Emily of Pounding Mill, Virginia Roby “R.C.” Street and wife, Imogene of Winter Haven, Florida Larry Joseph Street and wife, Janice of Abingdon, Virginia Fourteen Grandchildren: Renae Matney, Cynthia Looney, Chris Looney, Heather Woody, Ashley Prater, Dawn Stacy, Randilynn Brown, Zachary Brown, Andrea Anderson, Jeremy Ratliff, Tara Brewster, Sarah Brewster, Hayley Allison, and Matthew Allison Eight Great Grandchildren: Brianna Matney, Joshua Looney, Cody Clevinger, Austin Anderson, Mickey Stacy, Dalton Stacy, Dalton Stiltner, and Cheyenne Ratliff Funeral services for Katie A. Brown will be conducted Friday, September 11, 2009 at 12:00pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Ancil Childress and Rev. Jody Breeding officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Cody Clevinger, Chris Looney, Jeremy Ratliff, Tom Woody, Darryl Kiser, Larry Street, Jr., and Mike Richardson. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joshua Looney, Matthew Allison, Austin Anderson, Zachary Brown, Dalton Stacy, Mickey Stacy, and Dalton Stiltner. Friends may call after 6:00pm Thursday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
