Kimberly Melissa Burke

Kimberly Melissa Burke, age 64, of Richlands, Virginia, went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 4, 2025 in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Estel Ball and Reever Smith Ball. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a former cashier at the F&M Food Mart. To know her was to love her! Her kind spirit and sweet smile will never be forgotten. Her Christian faith was strong and unwavering. She truly loved her church and her church family. Jesus Christ was her refuge and strength. She was a hard worker her whole life and was fully dedicated in everything she did. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved unconditionally and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Stella Casey and Dottie Taylor; and her brother, Billy Joe Ball. Survivors are: Daughters: Rachel Mitchell and husband, Travis of Pouding Mill, Virginia Joanie Burke of Lebanon, Virginia Son: James Burke and wife, Jamie of Swords Creek, Virginia Sister: Janice Lester of Raven, Virginia Brothers: Les Barnes of Swords Creek, Virginia and Doug Ball of Richlands, Virginia Grandchildren: Tabby Burke, Kaitlyn Burke, Ally Burke, Jade Mitchell, Jace Mitchell, Jaxson Chapman, CJ Mitchell, and Kash Chaviers Great Grandchildren: Avi Shortridge, Ayden Shortridge, Hadleigh Dotson, and Zara Jones Several Nieces and Nephews Special Nephew: Danny Lester, who was only a phone call away and would always come to help without hesitation. She loved him dearly!! Special Friend: Shelby Harrsion, when they were together, they lifted each others spirits with prayers, tears, and laughter! Special Pet Companion: Sugarplum Funeral services for Kimberly Melissa Burke will be conducted Monday, April 7, 2025 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. James Horton officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Shawn Chapman, Danny Lester, and Daniel Lester. Friends may visit with the family from 1pm until 2pm prior to the funeral on Monday at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
