Lee Allen "Pop or Pap" Miller

Lee Allen “Pop or Pap” Miller age, 77, of Jewell Ridge, Virginia went to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the Russell County Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Lee was born December 13, 1943 in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late Hobert Miller and Cora Casey Miller. He loved the Lord,;watching John Wayne movies and Gunsmoke. Lee was a retired Coal Miner from VP# 4 mines that was located on Pilgrims Knob. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandbabies. Lee had attended the Reynolds Ridge Community Church and the Lake Park Freewill Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of the area. In addition to his parent’s, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Miller, Lewis Miller; sisters, Narvie Shepard, Josephine Miller. Those that remain to carry on his loving spirit are his: Loving wife of 52 years, Mae Osborne Miller of Jewell Ridge, VA Daughter, Vicky Miller Sweeney and husband Ernest of Jewell Ridge, VA Brothers: James Miller of Jewell Ridge, VA Max Miller of Raven, VA Grandchildren, Rosanna White and husband, Jason, Jody Sweeney and Toni Ratliff, Anny Sweeney and fiancée Cameron Davis and Marcus Sweeney. Great-grandchildren, Ashton Sweeney, Elijah Sweeney, Addilyn Ratliff, Cody White. Great-great grandchildren, Aleighann White and Kayden White. Several nieces, nephews and host of friends also survive. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Ulrick and the nurses on 4th floor of Russell County Medical Center for taking such good care of Him. Funeral service for Lee Allen “Pop or Pap” Miller will be conducted at 2:00pm on Monday, June 21, 2021 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Lonnie Perkins, Rev. Jimmy Perkins and Rev. Clarence Lowe officiating. Interment will follow at the Osborne Family Cemetery located on Osborne Mountain near Raven, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 pm until time of service.
