Lillie Louvenia Asbury

Lillie Louvenia Asbury, age 94 of Bishop, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 13, 2020 while in Fairfax, VA. She was born December 7, 1925 in Buchanan County, VA and was a daughter of the late Jarvey and Lucy Cooper Horn. Mrs. Asbury was a retired CNA, having worked at Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell for over twenty years; after she retired, she did private sittings and personal care. She loved cooking for her family. She enjoyed watching westerns and soap operas. Lillie was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Patton “Shorty” Asbury; four children, Ida Alberta Blackburn, Robert Thomas Asbury, Charles Patton Asbury and Michael Wayne Asbury; three deceased grandchildren, Darrel Blackburn, Shannon Asbury and Chad Asbury. Those who survive to cherish her memories include her son, Kenneth “Kenny” Asbury and Felicia of Herndon, VA; daughter in-law, Debby Asbury of Bishop, VA; one sister, Louise Asbury of Michigan; five grandchildren, Sherry Anderson of North Tazewell, VA, Brad Asbury of Christiansburg, VA, April Asbury of Mechanicsville, VA, Celine Asbury of Monroe, LA and Wayland Asbury, proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Italy; four great-grandchildren, Kayla Anderson, Kristen Kirk, Kaitlin Montaigne and Lane Ferguson; six great-great-Grandchildren, Adalynn Asbury, Andrew Asbury, Aiden Kirk, Desmond “Bubba” Kirk, Jase Montaigne and Jaxon Montaigne; two special nephews, Terry and Arnold Asbury; special niece, Faye Davis; best friend, Ollie Willis; a host of other family members and friends also survive. Funeral Services for Mrs. Lillie Louvenia Asbury will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2020 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Reverend Carter Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Gene Anderson, Brad Asbury, Lane Ferguson, Travis Kirk, James Montaigne and Tim Watkins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 9 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2020.
