Lonnie E. Stiltner Jr.

Lonnie E. Stiltner, Jr. age 64 of the Thompson Valley community of Tazewell County, VA died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN. He was born February 8, 1950 at Grundy, VA and was a son of Mrs. Priscilla Johnson Stiltner of Thompson Valley, VA and the late Lonnie E. Stiltner, Sr. Mr. Stiltner was a graduate of Stonewall High School is Manassas, VA, had worked the majority of his life as a construction supervisor, and was a past member of the National Guard. He was a humble man who enjoyed the outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping, and working with his hands rebuilding houses. Mr. Stiltner liked sports and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Linda Mae Stiltner; daughters, Nicole Burkhart and husband, William of Frisco, TX, Cynthia Toler and husband, Kenneth of Warrenton, VA and Dawn Naydock and husband, Sean of Manassas, VA; sons, William Edward Smoot and wife, Meritis of Washington state, and Gregory Allen Smoot and wife, Jennifer of Front Royal, VA; sisters, Marion Plaster and husband, Jack of North Tazewell, VA, Mildred Blevins and husband, Rocky of Manassas, VA and Alice Wallwork of Ruckersville, VA; brothers, Larry Stiltner and wife, Jeanie of Midland, VA, Leon Stiltner and wife, Laurenda and Paul Stiltner and wife, Teresa, both of Thompson Valley, VA and John Phillip Stiltner and wife, Missy of New Market, TN; seventeen grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends also survive. The family will receive friends at the Hurst – Scott Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 where a service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA. Those wishing to attend the graveside service and travel in procession with the family are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
