Mac Stinson

Mr. Mac Junior Stinson, age 53, of the Stinson Ridge section of Jewell Ridge, Virginia, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at his home. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany and was the son of Macadoo and Frances Nichols Stinson of Jewell Ridge, Virginia. Mac was a former miner for Firecreek Coal Company in Welch, West Virginia and had also worked at the Marcellus Casket Company in Syracuse, New York. Mac was a kind and gentle man and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him. He especially loved all of his animals including his dog, Kiki; his grand dog, Nicco, and his two horses, Whiskey and Little Lady. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John T. and Laura Stinson; maternal grandparents, Herbert and Vinus Nichols; and his mother in law, Mary Piquett. Survivors, in addition to his parents, are: His Devoted Wife of 30 years, whom he loved dearly, Cynthia Stinson Three Daughters: Amanda Marie Stinson and fiancé, Thomas Watson of Cocoa Beach, Florida Angel Marie Ward and husband, Marcus of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Alisa Marie Neal and husband, Charles of Jewell Ridge, Virginia One Son: Mac Thomas Stinson, III and wife, Amanda of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Four Sisters: Becky Vandyke and husband, Bo of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Patsy Clifton of Honaker, Virginia Anna Mitchell and husband, Avery of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Janie Taylor of Richlands, Virginia One Brother: Donald Stinson of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Special Friend: Red Gilbert Six Grandchildren: Corey, Zachary, Rachel, Abigail, Aleigha, and Chandler also survive. Funeral services for Mac Stinson will be conducted Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Lonnie Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Stinson Family Cemetery near Jewell Ridge, Virginia. His children and their spouses will serve as pallbearers.
