Marry Altizer

Mrs. Marry Jeanette Altizer age 85 of Cedar Bluff, Va. went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 27, 2005 at Cedar Bluff, VA. following a lengthy illness. She was born at Red Root Ridge, VA and was a daughter of the late Wallace Matthew and Millie Irene Smith, both Tazewell County natives. She was an employee of Tazewell County Schools with 25 years of service at Richlands High School. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where she was the caretaker of the church nursery for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Crobie Allen Altizer. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Keith Anthony Altizer, Sisters, June Ratliff, Thelma Smith, Willie Smith, Brother, Perry Smith, Half Brothers, Ramond Smith, Farley Smith and Step Mother, Mrs. Bendy Smith. Survivors include: Daughters: Mrs. Betty Sue Mullins and husband Woodrow of Cedar Bluff, VA Mrs. Nancy Carol Davis and husband Larry of Cedar Bluff, VA Mrs. Sandra Kay Newberry and husband Mike of Cedar Bluff, VA Sons: Mr. Harold Keith Altizer and wife Sarah of Hendersonville, TN Mr. Ronald Dennis Altizer and wife Deborah of Louisa, VA Mr. Jerry Lee Altizer and wife Wilma of Perry, Ohio Sisters: Mrs. Juanita Looney of Lebanon, VA Mrs. Ada Pinion of Raven, VA Mrs. Ella Cornett of Roanoke, VA Mrs. Lois Hobbard of Lenoir, NC Half-Sisters: Mrs. Molly Williams of Pennsylvania Mrs. Peggy Johnson of Raven, VA Mrs. Bonnie Proffitt of Raven, VA Half-Brothers: Mr. Tom Smith of Raven, VA Mr. Wallace Matthew Smith, Jr. of Raven, VA Mr. Crobie Smith of Whitewood, VA 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive Special Friend: Rachel Brown of Richlands, VA Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 2:00 p. m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel of Richlands, VA with Pastor Craig Barber and Rev. C. Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be, Tim Altizer, Jeff Altizer, Jamey Altizer, Neil Davis, Matt Newberry, Adam Davis, and Travis Newberry. Honorary pallbearers will be, Marvin Nipper, Dr. L. Z. Claustro, Denton Sisk, Chris Beisser and Michael Mcelvain. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p. m.
