Minnie Ellen Burke McClain, age 72, of the Belfast area of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia. She was born May 27, 1941 in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late James P. and Hattie R. Fox Burke. She was a native of the Seaboard area of Jewell Ridge, Virginia. Minnie was a member of Bible Way Church on Big A Mountain and was a homemaker. She had been a lifelong resident of the area. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lilly Burke and Catherine Burke; and four brothers, James R. Burke, David S. Burke, Charlie L. Burke and Jesse T. Burke. She is survived by: Her Husband of fifty one years, Delmer C. McClain Four Daughters: Carol Keen and husband, Chris of Belfast, Virginia Tammie Rasnake and husband, Randall of Belfast, Virginia Buffie Addair of Belfast, Virginia Daphne Cordle and husband, Scotty of Richlands, Virginia One Son: Delmer Curtis McClain, Jr. and wife, Kate of Wardell, Virginia One Sister, Helen Ketchem of Chesapeake, Virginia One Brother, Dale Burke of Strongsville, Ohio Twelve Grandchildren: Brandon Honaker and wife, Elizabeth Shawn Rasnake and wife, Keshia Seth Kennedy, Joshua Brown, Derek Rasnake, Jordon Grizzle, Dillon McClain, Cody McClain, Natasha Honaker, Kayla Brown, Jasmine Keen and Jillian Keen Three Great Grandchildren, Emma Meadows, Kaden Ulrich and Bentley Rasnake Several nieces and nephews also survive. Special thanks to Dr. Chaudhry and the staff of Clinch Valley Medical Center. Funeral services for Minnie Ellen Burke McClain will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Darrell Milgrim officiating. Interment will follow at Ward Family Cemetery at Swords Creek, Virginia. Pallbearers will be; Shawn Rasnake, Derek Rasnake, Brandon Honaker, Joshua Brown, Chris Keen and Cody Minton. Honorary pallbearers will be: Seth Kennedy, Roy Grizzle and Scottie Cordle. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 pm on Thursday evening at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home.
