Minnie Lester

Minnie B. Lester, age 87, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away, Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at her home. She was born in Tazewell County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late George Miller and Amanda Virginia Fowler Hagy. Minnie was a founding member of Chapel of Love Church. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a homemaker. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. Lester; two daughters, Margaret Wright and Louise Taylor; one son, Fletcher Lester; one granddaughter, Debbie Taylor; two grandsons, Daniel Lester and Donald Lester; and one great granddaughter, Alisha Lester. Her Survivors are: One Daughter: Connie Wyatt and husband, Jerry of Bearwallow, Virginia Four Sons: Henson Eugene Lester of College Estates, Cedar Bluff, Virginia Ralph Junior Lester and wife, Carol of Baptist Valley, Cedar Bluff, Virginia Stevie Lester and wife, Geneva of Kents Ridge, Cedar Bluff, Virginia Roger Lester and wife, Delores “Porky” of College Estates, Cedar Bluff, Virginia Two Sons-in-Law: Mickey Wright of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Jessie Taylor of Baptist Valley, Cedar Bluff, Virginia Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild along with her special caregiver, Nikki "Baby" Green. Special Caregiver, Nikki “Baby” Green Funeral services for Minnie B. Lester will be conducted Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jo Wright and Rev. Roger Lester officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Virginia. Grandsons, Grandsons-in-law, Great Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm Thursday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home; 1401 Second Street; Richlands, Virginia.
