Pansy Lee Whitt Sparks

Pansy Lee Whitt Sparks, age 87 of North Tazewell, VA died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at her home. She was born March 4, 1929 at Newhall, WV and was a daughter of the late Henry Augustus and Josephine Brewster Whitt. She was a member of Linkous Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Dry Fork, VA and served with the Linkous Chapel Helping Hands Ladies Ministry for Kids. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Clark Sparks; two sons, Rex Sparks and Harold Sparks; one daughter, Carol Sparks; one sister, Beatrice Brewster; five brothers, Howard Whitt, Jack Whitt, Crockett Whitt, Clayton Whitt and Bobby Whitt; two sons-in-law, Kevin Phipps and Jack Casey. Those who survive to cherish her memories include four daughters, Julie East and husband, Clayton of English, IN, Frances Marie Casey of Muskogee, OK, Margaret Meade and husband, Donald and Kathy Sparks Phipps both of North Tazewell, VA; one son, Raymond Curtis Sparks and wife, Barbara of Bandy, VA; one sister, Frances Irene Boyd of Tazewell, VA; one brother, Joseph Hencil Whitt of Tazewell, VA; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Sparks of North Tazewell, VA; one sister-in-law, Beulah Hayes; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive. Funeral services for Pansy Lee Whitt Sparks will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Reverend Jonah Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 9 P.M.
