Peggy Lane Shook

Peggy Lane Shook, age 89, of Doran, Virginia, went to meet her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at a nursing home in Elkhorn City, KY. Peggy was born on February 18, 1935 in Doran, VA, and was the daughter of the late Aut Eugene Shreve and Doris Ellen Lowe Shreve. She was a class of 1953 graduate of Richlands High School and was a member of the Clearview Methodist Church. Peggy was a lifelong resident of the Cedar Bluff and Doran areas. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by all her loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Rev. Billie Harrell Shook; granddaughter, Caitlin Paige Williams; sisters, Wilma Rainelle Hale, Naomi Louise Keen, and Bonnie Sue Shreve; father and mother-in-law, David and Myrtle Shook; brother and sister-in-law, Claude and Helen Hess; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Mutter, Curtis Smith and Dallas Johnson. She is survived by: Children: Kathy Williams and husband, Kelly of Pounding Mill, VA Angela Patton and husband, Bryan of Calera, AL Tracie Wallace and husband, Tim of Haysi, VA David Shook of Bristol, TN Son of the heart, Marty Messick and wife, Liz of Wears Valley, TN Grandchildren: Justin Williams and wife, Natasha; Benjamin Patton and wife, Samantha; Michael Ramey and wife, Danielle; Cerise Gibson and husband, Rick; and Cierra Shook Great Grandchildren: Hudson Williams, Harper Williams, Tyler Patton, Bryson Patton, Dylan Patton, Alyvia Patton, Levi Ramey, and Scarlet Gibson Sisters: Linda Johnson of Doran, VA Elsie Mutter of Belfast, VA Sister-in-law, Margie Smith of Richlands, VA Also surviving are several nieces, and nephews, and a host of family and friends. Funeral services for Peggy Lane Shook will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Paul Griffith and Pastor Annette Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Justin Williams, Benjamin Patton, Michael Ramey, Marty Messick, Tyler Patton, and Allen Compton.
