Randall Leon Walls

Randall Leon Walls, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, was born January 17, 1953, and passed away at his home on January 6, 2021, with his loving family surrounding him. As a young man in high school, Randall was invited to sing in the All-Virginia Choir. As an adult, he devoted himself to the Lord and used his talents to minister at the Richlands Tabernacle. It was there that he served faithfully and was a loyal member for over 45 years, and along with his wife, Dana Walls, became the ministers of music over 40 years ago. Oh, how he loved and cherished his choir, and oh, how they loved him in return! One of his greatest joys was leading his members in the glorious worship of our wonderful Lord! Today he is singing and worshipping with all his might in the most heavenly choir of all! As well as being the minister of music, he was also an avid supporter of the Richlands Tabernacle’s additional ministries including the Richlands Christian Academy, the Richlands Tabernacle Bus Ministry, the Sunday School, and Missions. He was a retired insurance salesman having worked in the Richlands area for over thirty years. Randall was the most devoted husband and father. He adored his family and loved them more than life itself. His precious wife, two loving daughters, and two beloved grandsons were the light of his life. He was so proud of each of them. Randall also held an unconditional love for his brothers and his sister. He was the ultimate defender of his family and his church. He was one of the most giving people you would ever meet, and he worked tirelessly all his life to provide for his family, ensuring that they never wanted for anything. Randall’s love for life was contagious. He lived it to its fullest, and he could bring joy and laughter to a room by just simply walking in. His steadfast faith, dedication, and love for the Lord impacted an innumerable amount of people across the United States. He was given the honor of directing Mass choirs, some with 250 people or more, in numerous states such as Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia and Ohio, just to name a few. Various churches across the country would request him to come share his ministry of music at their choir seminars. His angelic voice carried on Gods spiritual winds and like artist, his canvas were our souls, and infused them with music. He was truly the epitome of an unwavering Christian. He will be missed more than words can express, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who know and love him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Syble Walls; one sister, Sharon Smith; one brother, Roger Walls; his father-in-law, the Rev. Ralph Horton, and his sister-in-law, Debra Horton Roberts. Randall is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Dana Lynn Horton Walls of Cedar Bluff, VA. Other survivors also include: Daughters: April Walls of Cedar Bluff, VA, and Aranda Vance and husband James of Cedar Bluff, VA. Grandsons: Logan James Ralph Vance and Luke Aaron Boyd Vance of Cedar Bluff, VA. His beloved mother-in-law, Doris Boyd Horton of Cedar Bluff, VA. Brothers: Larry and wife Becky of Midlothian, VA. Ronnie and wife Ruth of Baltimore, MD. Kenneth and wife Phyllis of Piney Flats, TN. Thomas and wife Ann of Cedar Bluff, VA. Sister: Judy Beattie and husband Larry of Sellersburg, IN. Special cousin, Juanita Martineau. Funeral Services for Randall Leon Walls will be held at the Richlands Tabernacle on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at 1:00pm with Rev. Robert Osborne, Rev. James Vance, and Rev. Phillip Horton officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Richlands Tabernacle. Pallbearers include the brothers of the Richlands Tabernacle Choir, all of Randall’s nephews, and his two treasured grandsons, Logan and Luke Vance. Honorary pallbearers consist of the brothers of the Richlands Tabernacle Church. Burial will follow at the Clinch Valley Cemetery.
