Rebecca Jean Vandyke

Rebecca Jean Vandyke, age 68 of the Stinson Ridge Section of Jewell Ridge Virginia passed away at her home following a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 with family by her side. She was born on September 4, 1954 in Fort Knox, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Ella Francis and McAdoo Stinson whom she loved dearly. Raised in a military family she lived in multiple locations before settling here in her youth years. Becky was a radiologist at CVMC for 15 years. She was a Graduate of Southwest Virginia Community College and Richlands High School Class Of 1974. She was a hard worker and enjoyed the beach, cutting brush, working in her flowers, playing in the creek, and taking rides around the mountain roads to see the beauties of nature. Becky never met a stranger. She loved her family with all her heart. Nothing gave her more joy than helping people. Becky loved the snow. Yes, the SNOW! In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mac Junior Stinson; nephews, Scotty Harrison, John Taylor, Donald Stinson, and Ellis Harmon; and nieces, Teresa Harmon, Angel Stinson, and Patricia Phillips. She will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her. In honoring her wishes, graveside services for Rebecca Jean Vandyke will be conducted Friday, September 23, 2022 at 11am at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. After the graveside service, she will be laid to rest next to her parents. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
