Ronald Gordon Keene

Ronald “Ronnie” Gordon Keene, age 63, of Pounding Mill, VA passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Ronald was born August 4th, 1959, and he was the son of the late Gordon Eugene Keene and Martha Evangeline Keene. Ronnie loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and family gatherings. He loved fishing, riding motorcycles with his friends, racing, and shooting guns. He mostly loved taking his grandchildren hunting with him, riding the farm tractor, and ranching with his buddy, Monroe. He was a prankster, and made those around him laugh, and brought them joy every day. In addition to his father Ronnie is preceded in death by his wife Kimberly Jean Hoops Keene, his paternal grandparents, James Basil and Margie Gross Keen, and his maternal grandparents, Charles E and Johanna Wilder Jersey. Survivors include; His mother, Martha Evangeline Jersey Keene, of Pounding Mill, VA His daughter, Kelly Reanna Keene, of Cedar Bluff, VA His son, Kevin Lee Keene, of Pounding Mill, VA One sister, Susan Eileen Keene Dotson, of Pounding Mill, VA Five grandchildren Kellyn Aubrey Brown Trevor Kase Vilacha Kevin Lee Keene, Jr. Kaleb Levi Keene Kanaan Daniel Keene, A special Thank You to Legacy Hospice and their wonderful nurses for their care, love, and support, and to the wonderful friends and family who visited, called, or texted. Funeral Services for Ronald Gordon Keene will be held Monday, March 27, 2023, at 2 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA with the Reverends Jamie and Amanda Sexton officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Kellyn Brown, Kevin Keene, Jr, Gordon Dotson, Darren Spencer, Jason Puckett, and Christopher Phillips will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Doc Harman, Bill Demorest, Keith “Bowtie” Spurgeon, Sammy Jackson, Kerry Farmer, Randy Keen, and Joe Price.
