Tammy June Rutherford

Tammy June Rutherford age 61, of Bluefield, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Tammy was born in Welch, West Virginia, on February 18, 1961, and was the daughter of the late Walter S. Rutherford and June Mullins Rutherford. Tammy was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. After school, Tammy worked various jobs: secretary, CNA, EMS, and cashier. All of her life, she cared for others, and even in death, she gave life by donating her organs for transplant so that many more may live. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven babies who are angels in heaven, a brother, Walter “Duke” Rutherford. Those that remain to carry on her spirit are her: Loving Daughter and best friend, Katelyn Lockhart, and her husband, Scott of Rock, WV Sisters: Margaret Ann Walls and her husband, Danny of NC Carol Tackett and her husband, Leon of Yukon, WV Brothers: Jack Rutherford of Yukon, WV Steve Rutherford and his wife, Brenda of Yukon, WV Tommy Rutherford and his wife, Gail of Yukon, WV Granddaughter, Kinslie Lockhart of Rock, WV Special nieces near and dear to her heart: Stephanie Church and her husband, Johnny, Deanna Cooper, and her husband, Thurman, Amber Endicott. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive. In place of flowers, the family asks for donations toward her funeral expenses to Hurst-Scott Funeral Home. The funeral service for Tammy June Rutherford will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 20, 2023, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Virginia, with the Rev. Bernard Cornwell officiating. Interment will follow at the Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia. Scott Lockhart, Jacob Rutherford, Alex Dunn, Archie East, Tyler Cooper, Jonathen Hatcher, Alan Rose, and Bryan Endicott will serve as pallbearers.
