Terry L. Hall

Terry L. Hall, 66 years old, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away in his home on August 21, 2024. Born on November 23, 1957, in Richlands, Virginia, he was a devoted husband to his wife, Rebecca Russell Hall, and loving father to Charity Lynn Hall and Kristin Joy Shelton, as well as proud stepfather to Amy Catherine Jones and Elizabeth Ann Bauer. Honorary children David Cole and family, Jeremy Armes, and Eva Miller. His late wife, Mary Lee Hall, passed in 2018. Terry was a Godly man who not only ministered to the hearts of those he pastored at Victory Christian Fellowship in Claypool Hill, Virginia but as a tenured teacher and music director at Richlands’ middle and high school. He was a light that guided and supported the youth around him as he exemplified the nature of Jesus to his core throughout his everyday life. Terry was also a past president of the Virginia Music Educators Association. Terry was one who never stopped helping others, whether they be family, friends, or strangers. His love for music was a passion he shared with everyone around him throughout his 43-year music career, and his powerful sense of duty and honor reflected his deep-seated admiration for law enforcement. He obtained his NRA certification and enjoyed teaching others about concealed firearm safety. At the same time, he also earned his black belt in Judo-Ki-JuJitsu and his master’s degree in pastoral counseling. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Edward and Mildred Keene Hall, his half-sister Linda Wahl, and his first wife, Mary Lee Hall. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Russell Hall; his daughters Charity Lynn Hall and Kristin Joy Shelton, son-in-law Jeremy Roy Shelton, brother LaVoy (Johnny) Edward Hall, sister-in-law Patricia Blackledge Hall; and nieces Rebekah Hope Briggs and Heather Marie Loveland. Although not family, Terry also had many close relationships he considered to be family, including, but not limited to, David Cole and family, Eva Miller, and Jeremy Armes. The funeral service for Terry L. Hall will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia, with the Rev. Shirley Keen officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Greg Smith, Gerald Horn, Brian Reynolds, Don “Squirrel” Cochran, Randy Smith, and Jeremy Armes will be pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Cole, Chuck Allen, David Cole, Dylan Richards, Brody Sadler, Sam Daugharty, Ethan Daugharty, Jeff Keene, Scott Shaw. Bruce Miller, and Stacey Guhr. An open viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 28th, from 6-8 pm.
