Thelma Cantrell

Thelma Bernice Cordle Cantrell, age 91, of Jewell Ridge, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the home of her daughter and son in law, Evelyn and Danny Perkins, in Swords Creek, Virginia. She was born in Raven, Virginia and was the daughter of the late William and Gracie Stilwell Cordle. She had made her home in the Jewell Ridge area all of her life and was of the Church of Christ faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Cantrell; grandson, Alex Cantrell; great grandson, Asher; and two sons in law, Reuben Hughes and James Horn. Survivors are: Daughters: Sue Hughes and fiancé, Earl Hale of Winchester, Indiana Ellen Horn and boyfriend, Mike Brizedine of New Castle, Virginia Evelyn Perkins and husband, Danny of Swords Creek, Virginia Sons: Don Ray Cantrell of Tallahassee, Florida Harold Cantrell and wife, Diana of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Harvey Cantrell of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Sister: Helen Shelton of Doran, Virginia Grandchildren: Kurtis Cantrell and wife, Kristin; Carlene Cantrell; Dillion Cantrell and wife, Kay; Carol Ann Cantrell; Daniel Cantrell and wife, Nikki; Annette Horn and husband, Lance; Drema El Qadah; Esther Beasley and husband, Joe; Jeff Horn and wife, Mary; Angie Radford and husband, Barry; Rebecca Hoadley and husband, Mike; Heather Kiser and husband, Chris; Jason Perkins; Tabitha Cantrell; Esther Lester and husband, David Thirty Seven Great Grandchildren and Sixteen Great-Great Grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Thelma Cantrell will be conducted Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2 PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Evangelist Bob Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Cantrell Family Cemetery on Brown Ridge near Jewell Ridge, Virginia. Grandsons and Grandsons in law will serve as pallbearers.
