Tommy Lee Alley

Tommy Lee Alley, age 70, of Richlands, Virginia, was carried away in the arms of Jesus on September 18th at his home after a long, lengthy illness with his loved ones by his side. He was born June 29th, 1955, to the late William Alley, Jr, and Rebecca Alley. He worked at Mattie Williams Hospital for many years as an orderly and a Security Guard. Tommy was a simple man who loved the Lord with all his heart. He loved spending time with his family, reading his Bible, having family Bible studies, playing music, and singing for the Lord at New Life Ministries, where he attended with his family. He enjoyed good food and watching old Classic movies with his dog, Snowball, by his side. To his family and friends, he would say, “When you hear or read the scripture John 3:16, that I love, think of me.” He was preceded in death by his sister Shirley and her husband, Rufus Gilbert Sr., who raised him and were the only parents he ever knew. Also, one sister, Ruby Short; brothers, Bobby, Billy, and Terry Alley; father-in-law, Clyde Osborne; and twin infant grandsons, Caleb and Clyde Osborne. Those left behind to cherish his memory are: His wife, Lisa Alley of Richlands, Virginia Daughter, Kayla Osborne and husband, Brandon Osborne, of Richlands, Virginia Two sons: Christopher Alley and his wife, Samantha, of Springville, Virginia Tracy Alley and wife, Donna of Richlands, Virginia Mother-in-law Becky Osborne of Richlands, Virginia Brother, Landis Alley and wife, Frances Alley of Raven, Virginia Grandchildren- Kaitlin Osborne, Penelope Alley, Elijah Alley, Ezekiel Alley Step-grandchildren - Logan and Lauren Elkins Brothers and Sisters, he grew up with Mike, Vickie, Rufus, Debbie, and Connie Gilbert. Several nieces and nephews, his church family, and a host of friends also survive. Special thanks to Legacy Hospice and their wonderful nurses: Becky Casey, Becky Waleers, Lisa Fields, Donna Beavers, Beth Jackson, and Crystal Cantrell. The funeral service for Tommy Lee Alley will be conducted on Monday, September 22nd, at 2:00 p.m. at Hurst Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia. Pastor David Osborne and Pastor Robert Osborne will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hankins Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Mike Gilbert, Mark Gilbert, Tim Gilbert, Roger Alley, Dean Osborne, and Douglas Osborne will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Christopher Alley, Tracy Alley, Clayton Gilbert, Alexander Gilbert, Adam Gilbert, and Rufus Gilbert The Alley family will receive Friends on Monday afternoon from 1-2 pm.
