Wanda Cole Keen

Life's journey on this earth came to an end for Wanda Jean Cole Keen on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tennessee. She was born on March 9, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Stewart and Loma Nelson Cole of the Bearwallow section of Jewell Ridge, Virginia. Her journey here consisted of 79 years and as she would say “very blessed and wonderful” years. She was a lifetime member of the Reynolds Ridge Community Church. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Worley Keen in 1984. Wanda was also preceded in death by her brothers, Wilburn, Aldie, Curt, and James Cole; one sister, Hannah Darlene Cole. Those left to cherish her loving memories are: Her son: Randall Keen of Cedar Bluff, VA Her daughters: Levae Richardson of Claypool Hill section of Pounding Mill, VA Teressa Perkins and husband, Lonnie Perkins of Bearwallow section of Jewell Ridge, VA One brother: Bob Cole and wife, Nancy of Bearwallow section of Jewell Ridge, VA One sister: Ilene Holt of Cedar Bluff, VA Grandsons: Randall Keen, II and Jacob Richardson of Claypool Hill Granddaughters: Selina Perkins-Reynolds and husband, Christopher of Abingdon, VA Megan Perkins and Bryon Gilbert of Richlands VA Kaitlyn Keen and Kayla Richardson of Claypool Hill Great grandson: Jeremy Gilbert Great step-grandson: Charlie Reynolds Wanda’s life legacy is one of God's unconditional love. For all that were blessed to have known her, she truly lived her life the same. A remembrance of her life service will be held Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 7:30pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Pastor Lonnie Perkins officiating. The visitation will be 6-9 pm on Sunday. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 27, at 12pm at the Cole Family Cemetery on Bearwallow section of Jewell Ridge and anyone wishing to go to the cemetery please meet at the funeral home by 11:00am on Monday morning. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers. In respect of our mother's wishes and her expressed feelings of “giving of flowers while they are living” the family asks that if flowers are purchased, please give to someone you love and tell them how much you love them.
