Wanda Mitchell Minton

Wanda Mitchell Minton, age 66 of Denver, NC, formerly of Tazewell, VA died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC. She was born November 5, 1948 in Tazewell County, VA and was a daughter of the late Harry Lee Jackson Mitchell and Mary Katherine Angles Mitchell. Wanda attended Tazewell High School and was a lady with a heart of gold. She enjoyed helping others who were in need, cooking for her family, and decorating. Wanda was full of life and was the type of person who always saw the good in people and in situations and never the bad. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Steve Mitchell, Denny Mitchell and Donnie Mitchell; one nephew, Todd Mitchell. Those who survive to cherish her memories include her husband, Randy Minton; daughter, Kim Robbins of Denver, NC; son, Junior Robins of Tazewell, VA; step-son, Randy Minton, Jr. of Tazewell, VA; three sisters, Mary Sue Rambo and Doris Mitchell and companion, Tommy Stanley, both of Tazewell, VA and Patricia Hall and husband, Eddie of North Tazewell, VA; two brothers, Bill Mitchell and Robert “Jack” Mitchell and wife, Sarita both of Tazewell, VA; grandson, Jacob Lee Howard of Denver, NC; special grand-niece, Erin Dixon of Tazewell, VA; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive. Funeral services for Wanda Mitchell Minton will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Hurst – Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Rev. Kenny Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA. Pallbearers will be Eddie Hall, Tommy Stanley, Jarrod Mitchell, Randy Minton, Jr., David Howard and Ron Dixon. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler, Ben and Chad Mitchell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, December 8, 2014.
