Wesley Alan Lowe

The world got a little dimmer on September 5th, 2024, as one of its brightest lights passed away. Wesley Alan Lowe was a beacon of love and laughter for anyone who knew him, and to be his friend meant you were a friend for life. He was quick with a joke and even quicker with a smile. His generosity knew no bounds, and he left behind a legacy of kindness. He had the heart of a true Appalachian, which to him meant he spent many years mining coal, cruising his Harley on the weekends, watching the big game, attending NASCAR races like they were taking attendance, and listening to a good sermon on Sundays. He enjoyed many hobbies over the years, whether it was riding his racking horses, speeding a boat down the nearest lake, or tinkering on some old piece of equipment and making it run like new again. But his truest passion, as a lover of listening to and creating music, followed him throughout his years. No matter what interest he was pursuing, he never did anything solo, as he always surrounded himself with dear friends and loving family. Alan had a remarkable ability to make everyone he met feel special, and his spirited fun will be deeply missed by all. Alan was preceded in death by his stepson, Travis Tipton, and granddaughter Lady Willow Fae. He leaves behind two devoted daughters, Crystal Lowe and Paige Lowe, a caring stepdaughter, Laura Tipton, and two adoring grandchildren, Piper Neeley and Kole Rees. In addition, his loving and supportive parents, Clarence and Beulah Lowe, and two siblings whose bonds forged in childhood will last forever, Kevin and his wife, Kim Lowe, and Susan and her husband, Kenny Lowe. Also, there are a myriad of nephews and nieces who will never forget him as Uncle Al. And, of course, his goodest girl, Ginger. His celebration of life will be held at Hurst Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA, on Sunday, September 8th, 2024, from 6-9 pm. The Rev. Kevin Sparks and Rev. Lonnie Perkins will officiate the funeral, which will take place on Monday, September 9th, 2024, at 2 pm, where friends and family will gather to honor and remember the incredible man he was. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia, where his nephews are serving as pallbearers.
