Whitney Renee Lester

Our hero, Whitney Renee Lester, age 33, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, entered Heaven’s gates on Friday, February 11, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer over the past several years of her life. Whitney is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Eva Sue Christian Addair; her Aunt Charlotte Addair Reed; and her uncles, Melvin Howard Addair, Billy Addair, and Brian Addair; and a special friend, Cassandra Dye. Whitney was a true warrior who never gave up and always stayed positive; even when things got tough, she was tougher. She was the strongest person we ever knew. She was loved and inspired by all who knew her, especially her family who was so very proud of her. Though we are heartbroken, we are happy for her because she now has a new body without pain or suffering. Whitney is survived by her loving parents, Billy and Valerie Lester; her beloved “Bubba” Ethan Ray Lester and his wife, Dezy Lester; loving grandparents, Troy and Shirley Lester; special uncle, Timmy Lester and wife, Jennifer. Aunts: Sonja Rainwater; Kim Shortridge and husband, Dale Uncles: Stevie Addair and wife, Buffy; Doug Addair and wife, Evelyn Special Cousins: Zachary Reed and Caleb Lester A host of cousins and friends Whitney loved so much and her fur babies, Drifter and Gypsy. We would also like to give a special Thank You to the infusion team that took such great care of her; Sharon “Aunt Rose,” Dara, Penny and Tracy, her oncology nurse, Julian Whited; Dr. Alina Bhat; Dr. Tantary; and Dr. Fady Tawadros. Funeral services for Whitney Renee Lester will be conducted Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Randy Webb officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Caleb Lester, Cody Lester, Jamison Brill, Scotty Lester, Noah Lester, Jonathan Dye, and Jack Yates.
