Zion Lint

Zion Alexander Lint, age 8, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 2, 2001 in Johnson City, Tennessee and was the son of Jamie and Kristie Hess Lint of Richlands, Virginia. He was a lifelong member of SOFT (Support Organization for Trisomy) and enjoyed going to their conference every year and was an inspiration for the 2009 SOFT Conference held in Roanoke, Virginia. Zion loved going for rides and traveled all over the United States and even traveled to Canada and the Bahamas. Zion was a member of the Keen Mtn. Pentecostal Holiness church and loved music and going to church. Words cannot express the impact Zion had on people all over the world. He was loved by all who met him and was an inspiration to those who knew him. Born with a rare chromosomal disorder, his family was told he would not survive his first year of life. His family was blessed to have him for eight years, nine months, and fourteen days. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends near and far, but Zion has now left the surly bonds of earth and is touching the hands of God. He had several special nurses throughout his life who loved and cared for him greatly. He was preceded in death by one uncle, Timothy R. Lint; and Maternal Great Grandfathers, Norman Cook and Albert Hess. Survivors, in addition to his parents, are: Two Sisters: Mariah Kristie Lint and Olivia Shaye Lint of the home Maternal Grandparents: Darrell and Loretta Hess of Raven, Virginia Paternal Grandparents: Roy and Irene Lint of Wooster, Ohio Special Friend: Judy Simmons and a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins A celebration of Zion’s life will be conducted Friday, February 19, 2010 at 1:00pm at the Richlands Tabernacle Church in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Randy Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Cook, Matthew Vandyke, Jason Dales, and Isaac Street. Honorary Pallbearer will be: Thomas Lint. Friends may call after 6:00pm Thursday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
