Annie Pauline Stilwell

Annie Pauline Stilwell, age 91 of Baptist Valley, VA died Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at her home. She was born July 5, 1930 in Raven, VA and was a daughter of the late Henry and Anna Mae Whitt. Pauline was a member of the Tazewell Family Worship Center and loved to do crafts, read her Bible and cook. She was retired from North Tazewell Elementary School, where she had worked as a Cook for over twenty years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Mervin Stilwell, with whom she had over sixty-eight years of a loving relationship; son-in-law, Calvin D. Patton; twin brother, Paul Whitt; two sisters, Alice White and Nancy Thompson; three brothers, Otis, Oris and Joe Southern; two granddaughters, Sherry and Sharon White. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Those who remain to cherish her memories include four daughters, Linda Elkins and husband, Harold, Rose White and husband, Harley “George”, Pauletta Patton and Debbie Hodge and husband, Mike all of North Tazewell, VA; five grandchildren, Mike Elkins and wife, Robin, Chrissy Sefel and James both of North Tazewell, VA, Rick Patton and wife, Raeann of Bluefield, VA, Damon Patton and wife, Patti of Hickory, NC and Leeanne Regon and husband, Nick of North Tazewell, VA; seven great-grandchildren, Mikey Elkins and wife, Lisande of Richmond, VA, Nick Elkins and wife, Morgan of North Tazewell, VA, Ricky Patton of Bluefield, VA, Kenzie Patton, Caleb Patton, Isabella Patton and Matthew Patton all of Hickory, NC; sister-in-law, Wilma Harman and husband, Lindsey of North Tazewell, VA; special friend and caregiver, Betty Hodge; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. The family would like to extend special thanks to Elizabeth Sisk and the Staff of Legacy Hospice. Funeral Services for Mrs. Stilwell will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Rev. John Repass and Pastor Lawrence Hayes officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, VA. Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, December 10, 2021.
