Darryl William Rose age 70 of Raven, Virginia passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 in Swords Creek, Virginia, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late Jay Rose and Goldie Violet Sisk Rose. Darryl formerly worked for John Reedy paving, and in the coal mines. Do you wanna pick berries? Any type of berries he could pick, Darryl would spend hours, days, and weeks picking. He loved to cook and can food, and in his spare time, he hunted. Darryl hunted, coons, rabbits, squirrels, deer, and more. He loved being with his family and friends, he was a lifetime resident of the surrounding areas and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Johnson; brothers, Amos Rose, Harold Rose, James Rose; nephew, Larry Rose; niece, Patricia Osborne. He is survived by his: Sisters: Opal Tackett of Raven, VA Alma McNulty and husband, Rodger of Cedar Bluff, VA Brothers: Virgil Rose of Claypool Hill, VA Olbert Rose of Steelsburg, VA Nieces and Nephews: David Rose, Rick Rose, Clarence Rose, Keith Rose, Donna Perkins, Michael Rose, Kimberly Vandyke, Steve Tackett, Scotty Tackett, Marty Tackett, Kennel Ray Tackett, Rodney McNulty, Randy McNulty, Becky Stiltner, Tonya Absher, Richard Rose and Tessie VanDyke. Special friends and caretakers, David and Teresa Baldwin The funeral service for Darryl Rose will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Jim Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at the Davis Family Cemetery on Davis Mountain. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Cantrell, Doug Keen, Jeff Wade, and Eric Vandyke.
