Ellis Mack Billings

II Timothy 4: 7-8 Ellis Mack Billings age 75, of Squire WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 31, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 26, 1943 and was a son of the late Earl and Minnie Elma Billings and was a lifelong resident of Squire, WV. Ellis spent much of his life working for Consolidated Coal Company as a coal miner and in recent years at West Virginia Department of Natural Resources at the Berwind Wildlife Management. Ellis was an avid trader of guns and knives, loved spending his time gardening, working in his woodshop and spending time with his family. Ellis was of the Christian faith and was a longtime member of the Squire Freewill Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and taught Bible study. He was a father, paw-paw, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Harriet Sue Billings; one brother, Jack Billings; one great-grandchild, Tobias Jacob Carty; three brothers in-law, Jack Mitchell, Robert Sage and Charlie Mitchell; two nephews, Kenneth (Jackie) Billings and Kenneth Barnett. He is Survived by two sons, James Billings and wife, Evelyn of Hampton VA and David Billings and wife, Andra of Gretna VA; three daughters, Cindy Carty of Squire, WV, Annette Campbell and husband, Hugh of Sandusky, OH and Sara Evans and husband, Doug of Poquoson, VA; two brothers, Bob Billings and wife, Joanne and Ronnie Billings and wife, Marie; six sisters, Shirley Mitchell, Freeda Baldwin and husband, Albert, Shelby Sage, Jaunita Mitchell, Nadine Barnett and husband, Ova and Janice Johnson; eight grandchildren, Joshua Campbell, Andrew Carty and wife, Courtney, Heather Evans, Ashton Billings, Brandon Evans, Hugh B Campbell IV, Colin Campbell and Zachary Billings; three great-grandchildren, Makayla Grace Carty, Joseph Carty and Bentley Carty; special nieces and nephews, Meshell Billings, Stephanie Roncella and Herb Billings; a host of many other nieces and nephews, family members and friends also survive. Funeral Services for Ellis Mack Billings will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon), Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Pastor Daniel Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at the Hartwell Cemetery in Hartwell, WV. Nephews will serve as pallbearers and Grandson will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
