Goldie Mae Alicie

July 10, 1936 - April 11, 2020

Goldie Mae Totten Alicie was called home by the Lord to be reunited with loved ones on April 11, 2020 after a brief illness at Russell County Medical Center. Goldie was born on July 10, 1936 in Saltville, Virginia to the late Robert and Alta Lester Totten. She was a loving mother and wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great delight in all children and animals. Goldie loved nature, star gazing, singing, church, and cooking for her family and friends. Many watched intently as she crafted her signature hamburgers and biscuits, trying to learn her secrets, but were never quite able to measure up. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Douglas Alicie; her son, Tony Alicie; brother, Clarence Totten; and sisters, Catherine Totten and Genevieve (Ginny) Totten. Those who remain to carry on her spirit are: Daughter: Brenda Ball and husband Ken of Richlands, Virginia Sons: Kenneth Alicie and wife, Trudale of Pounding Mill, Virginia Carl Donald Alicie and wife, Judi of Culpepper, Virginia Stephen Alicie and wife, Vickie of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Daughter-in-Law: Carol Alicie of Bowling Green, Kentucky Sister: Mildred (Midge) Herald of Tazewell, Virginia Eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of additional nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be conducted at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia is in charge of arrangements and those wishing to express sympathy may do so at www.hurstscottfuneralhomes.com.
