James Aaron Phillips

James Aaron Phillips, age 31, of Sevierville, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee following a brief illness. James was born on August 24, 1989 in Richlands, Virginia to Judy Rasnick Phillips. He was employed as a sampler/bartender for Junction 35 Spirits in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. James was a 2007 graduate of Richlands High School and had lived most of his life in the Richlands area prior to moving to Sevierville eight years ago. James was preceded in death by his brother, John Nathan Rasnick; and his maternal grandparents, John and Reba Rasnick. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Judy Rasnick Phillips of Sevierville, Tennessee and his aunts, Anita Clevenger of Grundy, Virginia and Jeanie Presley of Richlands, Virginia. Funeral services for James Aaron Phillips will be conducted at 2 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with Bruce Olivo officiating. Interment will follow at the Rasnick Family Cemetery located in the Steelsburg section of Cedar Bluff, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 PM until the time of the service on Friday. In keeping compliant with COVID mandates, social distancing and face masks will be required.
