Janice Marie Owens

August 20, 1943 - March 5, 2022

Janice was born on August 20, 1943 in Buchanan County, VA and was the daughter of the late Clyde Earl Lambert and Emma Fletcher Lambert of Buchanan County, VA. Janice was a former employee of Eastern Isles of Richlands, VA. She had lived most of her life on Daw Road and had attended the Horton Ridge Church of God. She will be missed by all her loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Ellis Owens; two sisters, Madeline Rasnake and Jeanette Owens; and three brothers; Darrell Lambert, Hassell Lambert and Carson Lambert. She is survived by: Daughters: Sherry Bennett and husband, Dan of Swords Creek, VA Shelia Meadows and husband, Roy of Swords Creek, VA Sons: David Owens and wife, Melissa of Cedar Bluff, VA Ricky Owens and wife, Mary of Bluefield, VA Jonathan Owens and wife, Amy of Cedar Bluff, VA Brother, Harold Lambert and wife, Francis of Council, VA Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild along with several family and friends. Special thank you to Divine Home Care in Lebanon, VA with a special thank you to Jennifer Kennedy; Legacy Hospice, especially Judy Meadows and special thanks to the dedication of the loving family members that took extra care of her until the end. Funeral services for Janice Marie Owens will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Dennis White officiating. Interment will follow at the Owens Family Cemetery on Daw Road, Cedar Bluff, VA. Pallbearers will be Stephen Owens, Larry Owens, Gary Owens, Jeremy Owens, Shawn Owens, Daniel Bennett and Bradley Meadows. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Monday evening at the funeral home.
