Jeff Daughtery Price

February 19, 1939 - February 11, 2022

Jeff Daughtery Price, age 82, of Whitewood, VA, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA. Jeff was born on February 19, 1939 in Russell County, VA and was the son of the late Bailey and Irene Holmes Price. He was a graduate of Whitewood High School Class of 1959. Jeff was a retired business owner having owned and operated Jeff’s Grocery on Laurel Creek in Whitewood, VA. Jeff was a walking miracle having had a blood clot go to his brain when he was 13 years old, that left him handicapped on his right side. Medically he wasn’t supposed to live a long life, but by God’s grace and mercy he did. Jeff had a 65-year collection of salt and pepper shakers. His favorite past time and hobby was collecting and painting seashells, which he had hundreds. He attended Whitewood Senior Citizens and was a faithful member of the Loggy Bottom Pentecostal Church and also attended the Ray of Hope Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Lee Price and a sister, Armalee Brown. He is survived by: Special friend of 26 years, Sandy Coleman Special friend, Albert Goins Sister: Carrie McCoy of Citrus Springs, FL Brother: Junior Price of Lebanon, VA Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive along with a host of family and friends. Special thanks to members of the Loggy Bottom Church and Ray of Hope for providing transportation to church for Jeff. Funeral services for Jeff Daughtery Price will be conducted at 7:00pm on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Pastor Robert Deel and Brother Bobby Horn officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11am. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to be at the funeral home by 1030am. Pallbearers will be: Carter Brown, Steve Brown, Scott Brown, Jamie Horn, Logan Altizer, Bobby Gene Price, Joel Horn and John Hess. The Price family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
