Joseph "Joe" Paul Glover

November 24, 1962 - January 29, 2022

Joseph “Joe” Paul Glover, age 59 of the Dix Creek community of Bandy, VA died Saturday, January 29, 2022 at his home following a long illness. He was born November 24, 1962 in Richlands, VA and was a son of Betty Jo Patterson Glover of Dix Creek, VA and the late Omar Clayton Glover. Joe was a Graduate of Tazewell High School and had worked as a butcher in Maryland before working as the same for Food City in Bluefield, VA; he then retired to take care of his mother. He enjoyed fishing and hunting any chance he could. He loved camping and spending time with his daughter and grandson, whenever they came for a visit. He will be greatly missed, but the memories he helped to create with his family and friends will comfort them in their time of need. In addition to his Dad, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren Clayton “Butch” Glover and William “Bill” Ellis Glover. In addition to his mother, those who survive to cherish his memory include, his daughter, Eden Marie Glover Howell and husband, Shawn of Middletown, DE; one brother, Gary Daniel Glover of Dix Creek, VA; his grandson, Gavin Joseph Lee Pritt; several nieces and nephews; special friends who helped him when needed, Steve Boothe, and Michael Thompson of North Tazewell, VA; other family members and friends also survive. In honoring Mr. Glover’s wishes, his body will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Rev.
