Judith Catherine Tice, 74, of Pensacola, FL passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Judy was born August 6, 1947, the daughter of Charles Meyer and Mary Jo Meyer. Raised in a military family, she lived in multiple locations around the USA throughout her youth before settling in Norfolk, VA. She attended James Madison University where she was active in the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and received her bachelor’s degree in speech therapy. While working as a speech therapist for Project Helping Hand in southwest Virginia she met and married her husband, John who was in graduate school in architecture at Virginia Tech. From there they moved to Nashville, TN where she worked in the school system as a speech therapist, discovered her passion for community service, and gave birth to her two daughters, Jenny and Leslie. In 1979, her family moved to Pensacola, FL where John joined Bullock Graves Associates Architects which later became Bullock Tice Associates. It is here where Judy’s passion and talents for community service blossomed. She became active in the Junior League of Pensacola from which she received the Joan Gonzalez Award in 2008. She became heavily involved in the American Cancer Society and the Pensacola Museum of Art. She started the Theta Lambda Chapter of her beloved Alpha Gamma Delta sorority at the University of West Florida, where she served as Chapter Advisor from 1990 to 2004. In honor of her initiative in starting the chapter and sustained leadership and support, the chapter established the Judy Tice Scholarship. She was a founding member of Impact 100 and has recruited many of its members throughout its existence. She and John have been active members of St. Paul Catholic Church since 1979. After earning a degree in early childhood education, she started St. Paul School’s first Kindergarten program. Over the years she and John have been continuously involved in numerous church ministries. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her faith in God has always been present.
