Larry Richard Mabe Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Larry Richard Mabe, 71 a resident of Thomasville passed away on March 1, 2020 at his home. He was born on August 03, 1948 in Tazewell County, a son to the late Clarence William Mabe and Mary Lou Jeter Mabe. Larry worked in the furniture industry for many years and was a recent employee at Badcock Furniture. He was a loving daddy, pawpaw and friend. He had a great love for the outdoors where he could be found on any beautiful day, otherwise he was watching old westerns at home. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Glenna Gay Mabe; grandson, Larry Campbell and granddaughter, Rebecca McGlothlin. Surviving are his daughters, Glenna (Diane) Coe and husband Tommy of Denton, NC Melissa McGlothlin and husband David of Lexington, NC Pamela Rutkowsky and husband James of Denton, NC Grandchildren, Nancy Newsome, Cassandra Stanley, Glenna Campbell, Tiffany McGlothlin, William Mabe and Teddy Rutkowsky. He also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters and 1 brother. A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 4, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at J C Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. Mr. Mabe will then be taken to Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands Virginia for a visitation on Thursday evening, March 5, 2020 from 6-8 pm and a funeral service on Friday March 06, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Hurst-Scott Chapel with the Rev. Oakley McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens.
