Lucille Evelyn Reedy

Lucille “Lucy” Evelyn Reedy, age 91, of Richlands, Virginia, died peacefully at her daughter’s home on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 surrounded by her family in Hansonville, Virginia. She was born April 29, 1930 in Harlan County, Kentucky to the late Mac Charles and Ethel Mae Hubbard Bumgarner. She retired from Clinch Valley Medical Center after 20 years of service and making many wonderful lifelong friends. She was an avid sports fan all of her life. She played softball for the Lady Rebels and National Sportsman Shop. She was a member of New Life Ministries of Pounding Mill, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Hardin; brothers, Douglas, Dalton, and Glenn Bumgarner;an infant daughter, Diana Lynn; and infant granddaughter, Christina Louise Ray. Lucille was the matriarch of her family. She was a powerful Prayer Warrior, and nothing gave her joy like helping those in need. She loved with all her heart and if you had her in your life as a friend, family, or co-worker you were blessed by the best. Her quick-witted sense of humor kept everyone on their toes until the end. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors are: Daughter: Anna Ruth Ray and husband, Louis of Lebanon, Virginia Son: Robert Walter White of Richlands, Virginia Sister: Elsie Bumgarner Keene of Princeton, WV Sister in Law: Geneva Bumgarner of Richlands, Virginia Grandchildren: Jennifer Lynn Ray VanHuss and Husband, Jerry; and Marlena Faith Ray Snowden Great Grandchildren: Victor Xain VanHuss, Xindi Marie VanHuss, and Oliver Maxwell Snowden Special Nieces: E. Carol Keene, Donna Bumgarner, and Stephanie Beaudet Special Nephews: Billy and Doug Bumgarner Special Friends: Ruth Ferrell and son, Travis; and Peggy Mercer Also surviving, Laura Amereihn of Maryland and her daughters: Brooke Allen and husband, Wayne, Holly Cryder and husband, Nate; Julia Amereihn, and Gina Amereihn. Graveside services for Lucille “Lucy” Evelyn Reedy will be conducted Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11am at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. David Osborne and Rev. Robert Osborne officiating. Interment will follow.
