Raymond Lee Davis, 91 passed away on March 1, 2021 in Baltimore, Maryland. Born in Richlands, Virginia to James Oliver and Dora Ethel Davis, he left his hometown upon graduation from Richlands High School to see the world and support his country by joining the Army. A military career spanning 20-plus years resulted in an honorable discharge with the rank of Sargent Major. He began a second 20-year career with the Disabled American Veterans Organization as a National Field Service Officer. He was a very active and dedicated volunteer in the Dundalk, Maryland DAVA Chapter 21 and held offices at the Maryland State level for many years. Ray enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling, going on cruises and spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his love of family, his kind spirit and the love and respect he held for his country. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Myrtle Lucille “Lucy” Dills Davis and a daughter, Karen Howland. He is survived by two daughters, Pamela Naplachowski (Joseph) and Sharon Mech (Gary). He is also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brothers Ervin Davis and David Davis of Richlands, Virginia and his sister, Evelyn Sue Mitchell of Christiansburg, Virginia. Funeral services were held in Dundalk, Maryland on March 8, 2021.
