Raymond Paul Griffith, age 74, of Richlands, Virginia passed away Monday, July 15, 2019 at Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, Virginia. Raymond was born in November 4, 1944 in Richlands and was the son of the late Clarence Cecil and Gladys Stevenson Griffith. Raymond was a self-employed handy man. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Gladys Griffith; and three brothers, Jack Griffith, Clyde Griffith and Ellis Griffith. Raymond is survived by: His Daughters: Barbara Miller of Richlands, Virginia Tammy Mabe and husband, Keith of Richlands, VA One Son: John Griffith and wife, Michelle of Richlands, VA Two Sisters: June Sparks of Cedar Bluff, VA Truena Taylor of Paintlick, VA Grandchildren: Scotty Miller, Michael Miller, Elizabeth Griffith, Amanda Sweeney, Danielle Key, Adrienna Griffith, and Austin Griffith Great Grandchildren: Ashton, Elijah, Rylee, Lance and Emma A host of family and friends. Special thanks to the caretakers, Mae Smith and Alice Shelton; and Legacy Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hurst-Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services for Raymond Paul Griffith will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Danny Short officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The Griffith family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of the service on Friday afternoon at the funeral home.
