Shirley Jean Buskill

Shirley Jean Buskill, age 70, of Richlands, VA, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Clinch Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Shirley was born on September 3, 1951 in Richlands., VA, and was the daughter of the late Sherman and Lucille Keen Newberry. She was a retired homemaker and attended City on the Hill and Friendly Chapel. She was a lifelong resident of the area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Campbell Buskill; two sisters, Joann Hess and Gladys Marie “Tootsie” Newberry; brother, Joe Howard Newberry; and grandson, Gabriel Alexander Payne. She is survived by: Daughters: Cynthia Allen and husband, Clifford of Richlands VA Marie Boone and husband, John of Richlands, VA Son: Jimmy Lowe and wife, Tammie of Stafford, VA Sister, Judy Fox of Tucson, AZ Brothers: James “Bill” Newberry and wife, Deanna of Marana, AZ Basil “Couch” Newberry of Radford, VA Special Sister-in-Law, Dorcie “Sis” Newberry Canine companions, Missy, Jerzy and Sissy Grandchildren: Wyane David Newberry, Marisa Lowe, Kyara Lowe, Jacob Payne, Lily Payne, Kara Boyd, Raegan Boyd, Justin Miller, and Jacob Tucker. A host of family and friends also survive. Graveside services for Shirley Jean Buskill will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Greenhillos Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA with Rev. Barry Absher officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be Justin Miller, Cynthia Allen, Wayne David Newberry, Clifford Allen, John Boone, Stephen Breedlove and Jimmy Lowe. Those wishing to attend the graveside service meet at 1:30 at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 2pm at City on the Hill.
