Tammie Rena Horton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Tammie Rena Horton, age 55, of the Swords Creek and Raven area, passed away on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021, in a Richlands Virginia hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of Carolyn Griffith. Tammie will be remembered as a kind, goodhearted, and caring woman, who loved her grandchildren more than life itself. She was a regular attendee of City on a Hill Church, in Pounding Mill, Virginia. Those left to cherish her memory are: Husband, Larry Horton Son, Jonathan Shortridge Stepsons: Daniel Horton and Austin Horton Mother, Carolyn Griffith Mother-in-law, Billie Jean Horton Sisters: Dee Hart Tracey Divers of Hillsborough North Carolina Grandchildren: Anna Bell Shortridge and Rachel Shortridge Step Grandchildren: Isaac and Jera A host of family and friends also survive. Funeral Services for Tammie Rena Horton will be conducted Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Rev. Dennis White officiating. Interment will follow at the Horton Family Cemetery on Horton Ridge near Raven, Va. Pallbearers will be: Allen Horton, Gary Sparks, Harold Hyatt, Michael Hyatt, Michael Vaiers, and Brayton Mayfield. Darrell Short will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. Friends may call from 1pm until 2pm on Sunday prior to the funeral.
