Ada Marie Smith Pinion

Ada Marie Smith Pinion, age 86, of Raven, Virginia passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia. She was born in Red Ash, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Wallace and Millie Smith. Ada was a homemaker and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of Clearview United Methodist Church in Doran, Virginia She was a wonderful, loving mother and friend. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ferrell W. Pinion; step-mother, Bendie Smith; five sisters, Thelma Smith, Juanita Looney, Jeanette Altizer, June Ratliff and Lois Hoggard; and five brothers, Perry Smith, Bob Smith, Farley Smith, Crobbie Smith and Wallace Smith She is survived by: One Daughter: Teresa Thompson and husband, Wayne of Raven, Virginia Two Sons: David Pinion and wife, Joyce of Raven, Virginia Wayne Pinion and wife, Cheryl of Raven, Virginia Four Sisters: Ella Cornette, of Roanoke, Virginia Molly Williams of Big Cove Tann, Pennsylvania Peggy Johnson of Raven, Virginia Bonnie Proffitt of Raven, Virginia One Brother, Tom Smith of Raven, Virginia Five Grandchildren: Sherry, Jonathan, Nick, Chris, Matthew, Allison Four Great Grandchildren: Austin, Sarah, Bailey, and Kinsley Special Friend and Caregiver, Belle Stiltner Several family and friends also survive. Funeral service for Ada Marie Smith Pinion will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 11:00 am at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Pastor James Brooks and Rev. Paul Griffith officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Jim Bingham, Matthew Thompson, Jerry Dye, Jonathan Pinion, Windell Smith, Logan Harman, and Dakota Honaker. Honorary pallbearers will be: Men of Clearview United Methodist Church, Chris Pinion and Harry White. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home; 1401 Second Street; Richlands, Virginia.
