Carmia Horn

Carmia Horn, age 80, of Richlands, Virginia, was surrounded by her loving family as she took her last breath on earth and drew her first breath in heaven on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. She was born in McDowell County West Virginia on April 9, 1940 and was the daughter of the late James Keen and Rosetta Underwood Keen. Carmia had dedicated her life to taking care of her family, she was devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She had lived most of her life in the surrounding area and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, those that welcomed her through heavens gates were her husband, Millard Horn; her sisters, Bessie Mullins, Betty Jane Jones, Edna Horn, and Gracie Boggs; and her brothers, Robert Keen and Creed Keen. Those that remain to carry on her loving spirit are her: Daughters: Connie D. Cox of Raven, VA Rosa M. Rose of Richlands, VA Emily Horn of Richlands, VA Sisters: Gladys Church of Bandy, VA Mary Adams of Raysal, WV Brothers: Jarvey Keen of Cedar Bluff, VA Harvey Keen of New Castle, VA Special Niece, Tonya Blankenship Six Grandchildren, Thirteen Great Grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a beloved aunt along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of additional family and friends also survive. The family would like to thank Legacy Hospice for their care and concern. The funeral service for Carmia Horn will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with the Rev. Emerson Davis, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be: Travis Dales, Dennis Dales, James Dales, Matt Whited, Michael Clark and Joe Blankenship. The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the funeral home beginning at 6:00pm. Per COVID-19 mandates, face coverings and social distancing will be required and only ten people at a time will be allowed in the chapel.
