Suddenly on June 29, 2004 our precious Mom left to be with her Lord and Savior. He came, took her by the hand and said ?Come child, your work is done and it is time to come home to be with me now?. Mom went without hesitation, without looking back at her earthly home. We love you so much that when we looked around, you were no longer here, but we looked again, and you are everywhere. We know you left without telling us bye, but because we love you, we will try to know what to do. So we look in the mirror and tell you what we see, it won't be us it will be you. God gave you to us for 76 years, and You?re with Daddy now, ( The late Rev. Berlin Smith) and please wait by the gate for us, we will soon be with you. Celia Ellen Smith age 76, of North Tazewell, Virginia died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at a Tazewell, Virginia hospital following a brief illness. Celia was born in Buchanan County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Clinton and Maggie Baldwin Brown. Celia had made her home at North Tazewell for the past 32 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a loving foster mother to many children. She was a home health provider and an aide with Tazewell Social Services. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Celia was a member of Calvary Assembly and was a devout Christian. Celia was the widow of the late Rev. Berlin Smith and in addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Franklin Delano Smith, Ronald Berlin Smith, Daughter-in-law, Virginia Smith, Grandsons, Greg Smith, Daniel Baker and granddaughter Dawn Louise Smith. Survivors include: Daughters: Mrs. Edward 'Doris' Baker of Rocky Mount, VA Mrs. Thomas 'Brenda' Stevens of Ocala, FL Mrs. Donald 'Barbara' Bullard of Ocala, FL Mrs. Jimmy 'Dovie' Via of Growley, Texas Mrs. Don'Patsy Baldwin of Pounding Mill,VA Mrs. James 'Donnie' Kiser of Georgetown, FL Mrs. Lee 'Nancy' Bellomy of Bluewell, WV Mrs. James 'Peggy' Abel of Bastian, VA Sons: Mr. Jack Smith and wife Nada of Mason, WV Mr. Dennis 'Buck' Smith and wife Jennifer of Roanoke, VA Mr. Noah Clinton Smith and wife Sheila of FL Mr. Berlin 'Matt' Smith and wife Danita of Baptist Valley, VA Sisters: Mrs. Lomia Nalley of Thomasville, NC Mrs. Emma Moore of Alabama 38 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren also survive. The family would like to recognize Dr. Stephen Rinehart and the staff of Tazewell Community Hospital for their many kindnesses and care. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, July 4, 2004 at 1:00 pm at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Virginia with Rev. Charles Rose and Rev. Troy Bartley officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Virginia. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
