Clarence Lloyd Jones, Jr. “Jonesie” / “Bubbie” / “Jr” Clarence Lloyd Jones, Jr. age 52, of Richlands, VA passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. Clarence was born in Richlands, VA on May 29, 1965 and was the son of Elaine Church of Roanoke, Virginia and the late Clarence Lloyd Jones, Sr.. His father was killed in Vietnam on April 6, 1965 prior to Clarence’s birth. He was raised by his loving maternal grandparents the late Lucian and Dolly Church, whom he called Mom & Dad. He was employed at Skateworld for many years and was passionate about his job there and thoroughly enjoyed skating as well. He was also a dedicated worker at Labor Ready when he resided in Roanoke, VA. He enjoyed listening to music, watching NASCAR racing, and spending time with family and friends. “Bubbie” will be remembered by his outgoing personality, contagious smile, and big heart. He truly loved his family and was thankful for everything each of them had done for him over the years. In addition to his father and maternal grandparents, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Harry and Ruby Jones; sisters, Donna Webb and Muriel Campbell; brothers Troy Stanford, Ronald Church, and Donald Church; and brother-in-law Clyde Leach. Those who remain to carry on his spirit are: Daughter, Katie Mae Jones of Roanoke, VA Sisters: Dawn Caldwell Stone of Roanoke, VA Renee Caldwell of Roanoke, VA Karen Jackson & husband Raymond of Pounding Mill, VA Tammy McKinney & husband Darren of Richlands, VA Barbara Rolen of Richlands, VA Patricia Gross & husband Junior of Richlands, VA Joyce Leach of Metamora, IL Brothers: Brian Stanford & wife Cindy of Radford, VA Keith Stanford & wife Ann of Bedford, VA Scott Lester & wife Tonya of Tazewell, VA Brother-in-law, Brian Webb of Richlands, VA Special cousins, Tootie Pruett and Jennifer Rolen both of Richlands, VA Special friends, Randy Keene and Carolyn Michaels Several special nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends also survive him. The funeral service for Clarence Lloyd Jones, Jr. will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA with Pastor Charlie Absher and Brother Randy Keene officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be: Keith Stanford, Brian Stanford, Scott Lester, Patrick Jackson, Barry Gross, Shannon Leach, JT Anderson, Bobby Lee Keen II, and Eric Harris. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
