Dana Asbury

Dana Lynn Asbury age 18 of Thompson Valley, VA went to be with the Lord Monday, September 11, 2006 at Tazewell, VA as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She was born in Richlands, VA and was the daughter of Lisa Williams Mustard of Thompson Valley and Dexter Asbury of Cedar Bluff, VA Dana was a graduate of Tazewell High School, Class of 2006 and was attending Southwest Virginia Community College. She was employed part time at Belk. While attending high school, Dana was secretary of the F.F.A., she was active in FBLA, she ran track, and loved to play soccer. She was of the Protestant faith. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, George and Sadie Asbury, step grandfather, Albert John Kellenbenz, uncle, Billy Morton, great grandmother, Gracie Winningham and special cousin, Aaron Spence. Survivors include: Mother and Stepfather: Lisa and Randy Mustard of Thompson Valley, VA Father and Stepmother: Dexter and Cheryl Asbury of Cedar Bluff, VA Maternal Grandparents: George and Pat Williams of North Tazewell, VA Maternal Grandmothers: Carolyn Williams of Lisbon, Maine Step-Grandmother: Edith Mildred Kellenbenz of Bluefield, WV Brother: Chucky Williams and Special Friend Kellie Cline of North Tazewell, VA Sisters: Christy Hodges and husband Carl of Thompson Valley, VA, Delilah Asbury of Cedar Bluff, VA, and Nikki Gilbert and Reggie of Bluefield, WV Her Boyfriend who she loved dearly, Jody Lane of North Tazewell, VA Special Nieces: Kelsey 'Sweet Cheeks' Hodges, Destiny Taylor 'Tator Bug' Hodges, Kelli Blaine Gilbert and a future niece or nephew Williams in May. Special Aunt and Uncle: Todd and Connie Harris of Thompson Valley, VA Several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a world of friends also survive. Her loving cats, Midnight, Tiggs and Spooky Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 15, 2006 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Tazewell, VA at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tom Mustard and Rev. Lisa Haywood officiating. Interment will follow at the Horsepen Church of Christ Cemetery, Horsepen, VA. Pallbearers will be, Mathew Gates, Randy Baker, John Fisher, Seth Spence, Justin Miller and Tommy Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Chucky Williams, Jody Lane, Jonathan Quesenberry, Carl Hodges, Andrew Asbury, Todd Asbury, Aaron Shortridge, Zack Shortridge, John Gates, Jr., Reggie Gilbert, Anthony Trotter and in his loving memory Aaron Spence.
