With heavy hearts and grateful memories, we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose joy filled every room she entered. A devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved sister, she will be remembered most for her contagious laugh – one that could lift spirits, ease burdens, and turn ordinary moments into lasting memories. Donna Gail Hill, age 76, of Swords Creek, VA, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at a Tazewell, VA nursing home. She was born on February 1, 1950 in Richlands, VA to the late Ralph Bernard Hill and Mildred Frances Cline Hill. She was a cook and server at the Sportsman Grill in Richlands, VA. She had a gift for humor that made life brighter for everyone around her. Whether through a quick-witted remark, a playful tease, or a perfectly timed story, she knew how to make people smile. Her laughter was more than a sound – it was a feeling of warmth, comfort, and love that wrapped around family and friends alike. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. Though her absence is deeply felt, her spirit lives on in every smile she inspired and every story that will be told for generations to come. Her family will continue to honor her by laughing a little louder, loving a little deeper, and remembering that joy – just like her laughter – is meant to be shared. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Hill; loving companion, Bob Richardson; and brother, Ronnie Hill. Donna’s loving spirit will be carried on by her: Daughter, Rebecca Ratliff and husband, Douglas, of Swords Creek, VA Sister, Janet Lankford and husband, Dennis, of Swords Creek, VA Grandchildren: Tara Clark, Shanna Martin and husband, Allen Great Grandchildren: Tori Brook White, Colton Lee Martin, Jacob Wayne Martin Special thanks to Jamie and the staff at Heritage Hall-Tazewell; and the staff and nurses at Legacy Hospice for thier care and compassion. Graveside services for Donna Gail Hill will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum #4 in Claypool Hill, VA with the Rev. Frank Lester officiating.
