Dorothy Lester

Dorothy Lester, age 79 of Raven, Virginia passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at a local Richlands, VA hospital following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle Goodman Ball.Â She was a fulltime homemaker, a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.Â Dorothy was of the holiness faith and a lifetime resident of the area.Â In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl Robert Lester, daughter, Trish Shelton, sons, Carl Lester, Jr. and Junior Shelton. Two brothers, Estel and Glenn Ball grandson, John Anthony Lester and great-grandson, Cody Shelton. Those who remain to carry on her spirit are: Daughter, Alice Faye Royal and husband Roger of Raven, VA Sons: Jim Shelton and wife Sandy of Mansfield, OH David Shelton and wife Kathy of Mansfield, OH Jackie Shelton and wife Loretta Fredrick Town, OH Johnny Lester and wife Marcella of Shortt Gap, VA Rick Lester and wife Shelby of Richlands, VA Sisters: Ruby Davis of Bandy, VA Gerldean McGlothlin and husband, Clarence of Raven, VA Brother, Franklin Ball of Kentucky Two faithful felines she called â??Yellowersâ?? 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren also survive her along with a host of family and friends. Funeral services for Dorothy Lester will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA with the Pastorâ??s Bobby and Shelia Stanley officiating.Â Entombment will follow at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum in Richlands, Virginia.Â Pallbearers will be David Cruey, Jackie McGlothlin, Johnny Lester, Ronald Lester, Clayton Casey and Jamie Lester.Â Honorary Pallbearers are: Dr. T.
