Elizabeth "Libby" Witt Kimberlin

Elizabeth “Libby” Witt Kimberlin, age 56 of the Adria community of North Tazewell, VA departed this life on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. She was born to the late Frank and Elizabeth Green Lawson on February 27, 1958 at Tazewell County, VA and was an adopted daughter of the late Reece Witt, Jr. and Lettie Lawson Witt who lovingly raised her as their own. Libby was a 1976 Graduate of Tazewell High School and was an Honors Graduate of Southwest Virginia Community College, having earned an Associate’s Degree in Medical Coding. She had worked for over eighteen years for the former Appalachian Ambulance Service in Tazewell, VA as an EMT, Ambulance Driver, and Office Manager. She had a heart full of compassion and loved talking with people everywhere she went and she liked to fish. Libby was of the Protestant faith and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her biological and adoptive parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Alicie and Wanda Bailey; one brother, Melvin Lawson. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of fifteen years, Darrell Kimberlin; four sisters, Anita Witt Kinder and husband, David of Adria, VA, Jean Lawson of Norfolk, VA, Dot Harris of North Carolina, and Rose Crouse of Virginia Beach, VA; special nephew whom she dearly loved and shared a birthday with, Joshua Reece Kinder; special friends, Dorothy Hall of Richmond, VA and Helen Keene of Tazewell, VA; many nieces and nephews, other family members and several loving pets also survive. Funeral Services for Elizabeth “Libby” Witt Kimberlin will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Hurst – Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Dr. Tom Conley and Rev. Chris White officiating. Burial will be conducted privately. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
