Elizabeth F. "Liz" Breedlove

Elizabeth F. “Liz” Breedlove, age 71, of Richlands, Virginia died on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Clinch Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Robert Guy Flanary, Sr. and Lena Sublett Flanary of Richlands, Virginia. Mrs. Breedlove was a class of 1959 graduate of Richlands High School. She worked at Eastern Isles, a textile company, for many years where she made many lifelong friends. After the operations ceased in the late 1970’s, Mrs. Breedlove poured ceramics at a local artisan and worked at the local Kroger. Liz began her 27 year career in May 1982 with Dr. David Stanton, DDS and Dr. Darrell Harman, DDS, in Richlands, Virginia, where she retired in 2011. Her relationship with the staff there and with the dental patients was that of an extended family. She witnessed and shared in the lives of so many during her work there. After retirement, “Liz”, as she was known to many, enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, reading and spending time with her children and beloved grandchildren. Family was important to her and she often shared her love with others. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Breedlove was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lena Marie Breedlove; two sisters, Peggy Patrick, Cornelia Henderson; and four brothers, Charles William Flanary, Robert Guy Flanary, Jr., James Thomas Flanary and Richard Maurice Flanary. She is survived by: Two Daughters: Beverly Ann Thomas and husband, David of Saint Clairsville, Ohio Melissa Breedlove Denny and husband, Wayne of Clarksville, Tennessee One Sister: Marian Luttrell of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Three Grandchildren: Allen Denny, Sarah Denny and Philip Denny of Clarksville, Tennessee Two Brothers-in-law: Raymond Patrick of Richlands, Virginia A D “Henny” Henderson of Charlottesville, Virginia A host of nieces, nephews and other family that she cherished. Funeral services for Elizabeth F. “Liz” Breedlove will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, October 14, 2013 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Stafford Compton and Minister Carl Tegeler officiating. Interment will follow at Hankins Family Cemetery, Richlands, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm Sunday evening at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home; 1401 Second Street; Richlands, Virginia.
